You might not have heard of Leonardo Fibonacci. He was a well known mathematician who lived in Italy between 1175 and 1250. This sequence starts with zero and one. Each new number is the sum of the two numbers that have gone before. That means that the second number is one. Since one and zero added together equal one, this is the third number. The first numbers in the Fibonacci sequence are zero, one, one, two, three, five, eight, thirteen, twenty-one, thirty-four, fifty-five, eight-nine, a hundred and forty-four, etc. The sequence theoretically continues into infinity.

The interesting thing about the numbers in this sequence is how frequently they turn up in the world around us.

Is The GBP/USD Headed For 1.70?

The dollar has really strengthened in recent weeks and as a result the GBP/USD has taken a bit of a battering. Furthermore there's been an interesting development on the monthly chart with the positive Supertrend being broken for the first time since mid-2002.

The GBP/USD has been in a stong uptrend during this time but if the current monthly bar closes below 1.8918, ie the current Supertrend level, and confirms the break in trend, then there is no reason why the GBP/USD couldn't drop to it's EMA (200) at 1.7375 initially and then possibly even further to 1.70 or 1.60.

It's all ifs and buts at the moment because the price could rebound above the Supertrend level before the end of the month and the upwards trend will therefore still be intact, but if it stays below this level then this marks the start of a new downwards trend, and we could well see further drops.

The Martingale and anti-martingale strategy

It's very important to understand these 2 strategies.
-Martingale rule = increasing your risk when losing !
This's a startegy adopted by gamblers which claims that you should increase the size of you trades when losing. It's applied in gambling in the following way Bet 10$,if you lose bet 20$,if you lose bet 40$,if you lose bet 80$,if you lose bet 160$..etc

This strategy assumes that after 4 or 5 losing trades, your chance to win is bigger so you should add more money to recover your loss! The truth is that the odds are same in spite of your previous loss! If you have 5 losses in a row ,still your odds for 6th bet 50:50! The same fatal mistake can be made by some novice traders. For example, if a trader started with a a balance of 10,000$ and after 4 losing trades (each is 1,000$) his balance is 6000$. The trader will think that he has higher chances of winning the 5th trade then he will increase the size of his position 4 times to recover his loss. If he lose, his balance will be 2,000$!! He will never recover from 2,000$ to his starting balance 10,000$. A disciplined trader should never use such gambling method unless he wants to lose his money in a short time.
-Anti-martingale rule = increase your risk when winning& decrease your risk when losing
It means that the trader should adjust the size of his positions according to his new gains or losses.
Example: Trader A starts with a balance of 10,000$. His standard trade size is 1,000$ After 6 months,his balance is 15,000$. He should adjust his trade size to 1,500$
Trader B starts with 10,000$.His standard trade size is 1,000$ After 6 months his balance is 8,000$. He should adjust his trade size to 800$

Diversification

Trading one currency pair will generate few entry signals. It would be better to diversify your trades between several currencies. If you have 100,000$ balance and you have open position with 10,000$ then your core equity is 90,000$. If you want to enter a second position then you should calculate 1% risk of your core equity not of your starting balance!. It means that the second trade risk should never be more than 900$. If you want to enter a 3rd position and your core equity is 80,000$ then the risk per 3rd trade should not exceed 800$

It's important that you diversify your orders between currencies that have low correlation.
For example, If you have long EUR/USD then you shouldn't long GBP/USD since they have high correlation. If you have long EUR/USD and GBP/USD positions and risking 3% per trade then your risk is 6% since the trades will tend to end in same direction.
If you want to trade both EUR/USD and GBP/USD and your standard position size from your money management is 10,000$ (1% risk rule) then you can trade 5,000$ EUR/USD and 5,000$ GBP/USD. In this way, you will be risking 0.5% on each position.

Money Management Strategy

Your risk per a trade should never exceed 3% per trade. It's better to adjust your risk to 1% or 2%
We prefer a risk of 1% but if you are confident in your trading system then you can lever your risk up to 3%
1% risk of a 100,000$ account = 1,000$
You should adjust your stop loss so that you never lose more than 1,000$ per a single trade.

If you are a short term trader and you place your stop loss 50 pips below/above your entry point .
50 pips = 1,000$
1 pips = 20$
The size of your trade should be adjusted so that you risk 20$/pip. With 20:1 leverage, your trade size will be 200,000$
If the trade is stopped, you will lose 1,000$ which is 1% of your balance.
This trade will require 10,000$ = 10% of your balance.
If you are a long term trader and you place your stop loss 200 pips below/above your entry point.
200 pips = 1,000$
1 pip = 5$
The size of your trade should be adjusted so that you risk 5$/pip. With 20:1 leverage, your trade size will be 50,000$
If the trade is stopped, you will lose 1,000$ which is 1% of your balance.
This trade will require 2,500$ = 2.5% of your balance.
This is just an example. Your trading balance and leverage provided by your broker may differ from this formula. The most important is to stick to the 1% risk rule. Never risk too much in one trade. It's a fatal mistake when a trader lose 2 or 3 trades in a row, then he will be confident that his next trade will be winning and he may add more money to this trade. This is how you can blow up your account in a short time! A disciplined trader should never let his emotions and greed control his decisions.

Money management is a critical point that shows difference between winners and losers. It was proved that if 100 traders start trading using a system with 60% winning odds, only 5 traders will be in profit at the end of the year. There are different money management strategies. They all aim at preserving your balance from high risk exposure.
First of all, you should understand the following term Core equity Core equity = Starting balance - Amount in open positions.
If you have a balance of 10,000$ and you enter a trade with 1,000$ then your core equity is 9,000$. If you enter another 1,000$ trade, your core equity will be 8,000$
It's important to understand what's meant by core equity since your money management will depend on this equity.
We will explain here one model of money management that has proved high annual return and limited risk. The standard account that we will be discussing is 100,000$ account with 20:1 leverage . Anyway, you can adapt this strategy to fit smaller or bigger trading accounts.

Wingfoot Air Express - The First Airship Disaster

Many people around the world know The Goodyear Blimp from TV, the 'eye in the sky' at important sporting venues. However, these Airships have a long history and one that has not always been a smooth ride.

On Monday 21st July 1919 the Wingfoot Air Express (owned by the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company) crashed into the Illinois Trust and Savings Building in Chicago, with the loss of 13 lives. This was the worst Airship disaster in the USA until the Zeppelin Airship, Hindenburg crashed in 1937. Of the 13 who died, one was a crew member, two were passengers whilst the remaining 10 were bank employees in the building below.

The Wingfoot Air Express was carrying passengers from Grant Park to the White City Amusement Park when, at an altitude of about 1200ft, the craft caught fire above the Chicago Loop. Once the crew realised that the Airship was lost, the Pilot and the Chief Mechanic parachuted to safety along with a third person who broke both legs and later died in hospital.

The Illinois Trust & Savings Bank building on the corner of LaSalle Street and Jackson Boulevard, housed 150 employees who were closing up after the day's business (the fire being reported to have started at 4:55pm) in the main banking hall. The main hall was illuminated by a large skylight and the remains of the Wingfoot Air Express struck the bank's skylight directly causing flaming debris to fall through to the hall below. As well as the ten employees who were killed, 27 members of staff were also reported injured.

After the crash, Chicago City Council impossed a ban on hydrogen filled dirigibles from flying over populated parts of the city. The Airships home base, Grant Park Airstrip, was also closed shortly after the crash.

Published in honor of those who lost their lives while at their work in the bank, in a catastrophe that left all officers and employes grief striken.

THE GREAT TRAGEDY

Out of the clear sky came a mass of flaming wreckage which crashed through the big skylight of this bank, bringing death and injury into the Illinois Trust family. A big dirigible sailing over the loop caught fire a thousand feet in the air and came rushing like a flaming comet, down to earth. The finger of fate had selected the skylight of this building among the hundreds of flat roofs surrounding, on which the dirigible was to strike.

This great tragedy resulted in the death of ten of the bank's people and the injury of twenty-seven others, leaving a never to be forgotten shadow over the entire institution.

Employes and officers were busy closing up the day's business on Jult 21st. It had been a big day. Monday almost invariably brings more business than other days of the week. Many of the employes already were on their way home. Those still at work were putting the final touches on the day's work and would have departed for home very shortly.

Suddenly, as if the whole roof was caving in, there came a big crash and down through the skylight descended the huge, fiery blimp with its twisted iron and heavy mechanism, past the balcony and down to the first floor upon the heads of employes who were working underneath the large skylight.

You will find in this very private spot on St Kitts that the service is impeccable, and the food just amazing. The staff do really seem to care about you enjoying your stay and do their best at all times to make it memorable. They have this remarkable talent for being there just at the moment you need them then seeming to vanish when you don’t. The Royal Palm restaurant has a huge and well deserved reputation for its New Island Cuisine, and you will find the menu varied and always delicious in the evenings and there is also a poolside lunch every day except Sunday when there is a Sunday Champagne Brunch.

Be aware that Ottley’s Plantation Inn is not on the beach, but there is a daily shuttle to a beach which takes about fifteen minutes, and you will go with a very good packed lunch, chairs and an umbrella, but if you want there is a great pool at the hotel, and lots of guests just love the pool so much they never leave it!! Others spend hours wandering through the gardens and rain forest or taking the opportunity to have a treatment at the Mango orchard Spa. The thing is that Ottleys makes you feel like a family friend and that goes a long way to making it the perfect destination for a romantic getaway

Your romantic getaway package to Ottley’s Plantation Inn is not so much staying in a top Caribbean Inn, it is more an experience not to be missed but savoured. Part of the eco principles involves heating by solar panels, and even the water collected and heated is twice used as it is directed to the fruit trees after humans have had their use from it!!

Reada was a Saxon leader who settled in the area with his tribe in the 6th century. Reading Abbey was founded by King Henry I in 1121 where he moved with his family and was later buried there in December 1135.

The Abbey was opened by St. Thomas A'Becket. He was the Archbishop of Canterbury who was hacked to pieces in his Cathedral because he wouldn't do what the King wanted.

Reading prospered in the middle ages because it was on the main road between London and the West of England. There were many fullers in Reading as well as dyers, weavers, and tailors. The leather industry was one of the largest trades in Reading were the Leather was tanned then was used to make shoes, hats, bottles and saddles.

There were also many vintners (wine merchants) as the upper class mainly drank wine. The Sun Inn in Castle Street is the most fascinating of Reading's old pubs. It has a Norman archway which once led to a large underground hall.

There were 3 parishes in the town, St Marys, St Giles and St Laurence’s. In the middle Ages each parish had to have butts where all men practiced archery.

By the end of the 16th century Reading was home to over 3,000 people during the medieval period and Tudor times.

Reading also started to grow rich on its trade in cloth which was the main source of income for the economy, however the taxes levied on the town by the garrison badly damaged its cloth trade, and it did not recover.

Reading, like other towns, suffered outbreaks of plague in the 16th and 17th century. From 1646 the town council set aside houses where people suffering from the plague could be quarantined.

The 18th century saw the beginning of a major iron works in the town and the growth of the brewing trade for which Reading was to become famous.

The opening of the Kennet and Avon Canal in 1810 made it possible to go by barge from Reading to the Bristol Channel. This brought not only better transport but opened opportunities for trade and tourism.

In the 19th century the town also made 'Reading Sauce', described as a sharp sauce flavored with onions, spices, and herbs, very like Worcestershire Sauce. During World War II Reading was considered a 'safe' town (one unlikely to be bombed). Therefore many children from London were evacuated to Reading early in the war. But it was not entirely safe. In an air raid on 10 February 1941 41 people were killed and 153 were injured.

The local shopping centre, The Oracle, built in 1999, is not named after the US database company but rather after the 17th century workhouse founded by John Kendrick which previously occupied the site. The original 'Oracle' gates can be seen in the Museum of Reading in the town hall and still stands proud today.

With the rash of reports from travelers around the world getting stung by bedbugs and bringing them home it is no wonder people are in fear every time they leave home. Whether you are hiking in a remote area staying in a flophouse or traveling first class staying at a five star resort you are in danger of an attack of these blood thirsty vermin. Here are a few things you can do to dramatically reduce your chance of bed bug bites though.

• First, never put your bags or clothes on the bed. This common mistake is a virtual invitation for the bugs to hitch a ride home with you. Never leave your clothes or bags on the hotel floor.

• Look behind the headboard and pull the bed out a foot or so look all around the bed for black specks. These creatures are very small if you see anything suspicious call the front desk. Leave the bed out from the wall during your stay. Bed bugs can not fly so if they have been coming from the nightstand they will have to get to you some other way.

• Take a roll of clear packing tape with you while you travel. Wrap the legs of the bed sticky side out to trap the bed bugs trying to get to you. I know this seems extreme but you would rather feel weird than get stung.

• Pull all of the bedding off the sides of the bed and look under the seams of the mattress. You are looking for something that looks like dirt smudges. This is the trail of blood and feces left by the bed bugs. If you find this leave the hotel once you find an infestation you should leave as fast as possible.

• If you are an avid traveler I suggest taking two new king-size sheets and sewing them together on the bottom and sides. Use this at night like a big sleeping bag. Make sure and inspect and fold in the morning. Place this in a garbage bag and seal it while returning home. Unpack this before anything else and wash with the hottest water you have before using again.

• Before leaving the hotel carefully inspect you luggage. Look under all the seams, the bugs you are looking for are sometimes small as a pinhead. Any discoloration, red marks, or stains are tell-tale signs of bed bugs.

• Upon arriving home do not unpack your luggage in your bedroom. Unpack your luggage in your garage. Immediately wash your clothes in the hottest setting your fabrics will stand. Bag up any dry cleaning and take it there ASAP. Leave your luggage in the garage or place a bag around the luggage before returning to your room.

Don't check your luggage

This is why it's important that you stay nearby so that if your name is called, you can be there to get on the flight as soon as possible.

1. Adjust your sleep time

2. Set your watch

You’ve reached the voicemail of Zenobia Peoples. I’m away from the office and will be unavailable to the phone beginning Friday, February 29, through Tuesday March 18. During this time I will not be checking messages. Therefore, if your call is urgent, please dial 0 to speak with the operator and you will be directed to someone else.

But wait a minute. Since you called me, I just want to tell you where I’ll be for the next three weeks. Tomorrow morning I’m boarding a plane to Hawaii. My bags are packed and I am ready! In fact, my entire family is ready. Everyone is going except our beagle, Max.

We’ll stay three weeks on three different islands, relaxing, touring, swimming and just plain chilling. We’ve rented fully staffed villas on each island and also arranged for drivers so that we can tour the islands at our convenience.

We have a chef on staff at each house also, but I still made a few dinner reservations, so that we can check out some restaurants that have been recommended to us. I could go on, but I’ll just tell you more upon our return.

Yes, this is a fairly costly vacation, given the accommodations that we’ll use. But life is short. So why wait?
